Before and After!
So I've been preparing to get my own apartment once I find a job, and I started with a bedroom suit. There are several pieces to it including a tall chest, a dresser, and a headboard and footboard. These were originally from the 60's. This was actually my mom's bedroom suit when she was a little girl. When her mother passed away, we kept the furniture as we thought it had potential for something. Recently, I decided to redo the pieces and paint them gloss black. I then took the original hardware and spray painted it a brushed nickel. Overall, I am very pleased with the results. The total cost ended up around 25.00! Very excited about that.

My Life as a College Graduate
So I graduated college three months ago Friday. I have not found a job yet, but I want a job soon! and honestly the only reason I want a job is because I want my own place to decorate. I've already began searching for furniture and accessories. Fortunately, we have some stuff in the attic that I want to claim my hands on. The parents are cool with it. I've always wanted a gorgeous grey room. So, I created an idea for what I want my living room to look like. It's pictured below.

This is a sofa I have been admiring. I actually found it for a rather good price.

And here are the curtains I have in mind.

They have this cool grommet detail on the top as rod holes.

The trouble I'm having is deciding whether I want to use orange or not. It's a gorgeous dark rust orange. Here's the color as well as one other option, a stripe.

Let me know what you think!

THE WEBSITE!
I finally got my website up. Yes, there are a few kinks to we worked out. I have a few things I need to look at. There a a few stinky things, but it'll work out in the end. Please let me know if you have any comments. I'd definitely love to hear them.
Otherwise, I AM DONE! I have completed my last college obligation, and I couldn't be happier. I am ready for the world. I'm excited to see what's next. I'll post later... maybe. I'll try.

Facebook, Real Housewives, and more...
Facebook is an interesting thing. While I am completely obsessed, I hate it. I check it at least three times a day. It is kinda like that joke that you have with a friend that no one else should know about, but then everyone finds out about it. It was once a fun thing that you and your friends shared. Then your parents got on. Well, mine didn't but some did.
If you are not watching The Real Housewives, you are missing out. Oh, the trainwreckage that this show is. My mind says no, but my heart says abso-freaking-lutely. I watch and laugh. It is only after seeing the insanity that these women call their lives that I love mine even more. I feel, dare I say it, normal. I'm content with being normal. To have Vicki freak out on me would make my life.
I'm kind of forcing this blog out tonight. If I'm your friend on Facebook, which no one is reading this, but oh well, read my random 25 facts. I enjoyed writing them down.

Good Things
It's been a while...
So, it's been quite a bit of time since I last posed, over a year in fact. That's probably not a good thing. The truth is that I didn't feel like posting, but all of a sudden, I have decided I need to post again. I also now have this blog linked from my main website. You can figure it out if you try... it's really hard. While I have yet to get anything on that particular website, I am working on it. For now, I must post here.
While I'm struggling to figure out what to say here, I keep fighting with myself on whether or not I should keep this design related. I've decided that I'm not going to make this design only. My life is not just design, so I shouldn't make my blog only about design. We'll see what happens.

Hmmm...
So, I posted a quote below. I have been thinking about it. Does design really have to move you are not? I think it is important that the designs actually do move us. If we are not moved what is the purpose? Isn't there some point in moving the audience to get an idea from the design? If we are trying to sell a product, will the audience not need to be moved enough to purchase the product? These are just a few of the questions running through my head.

"Art has to move you and design does not, unless it's a good design for a bus."
